Jim Laguna

Jim has been the bass player in Cool Confusion since the band's inception in 1991. He's never missed a gig. (ok...he actually did miss one. Ask Cool Confusion's former guitar player Mark about that.) Jim has remained in the band through many line-up changes, but he feels the band now is the strongest it's ever been.

He plays a Rickenbacker 4003 (left-handed) through an SWR 350 bass head into a Hartke cab. He sites his influences on the bass as James Jamerson, Paul McCartney, Flea, John Entwistle, Paul Simonon and Bruce Thomas (of the Attractions).

Jeff Gabriel

Currently a resident of South Philly, Jeff was the band's first full time singer, joining in early 1992. In 1993, he relinquished this spot due to a move to Massachusetts, but returned full time as the lead singer in 1999. Other bands he's been with prior to Cool Confusion include aka/Fallen Idylls. He cites among his influences: Bruce Springsteen, Jeffrey Gaines, U2, Andy M. Stewart and numerous folk and Celtic artists/bands.

When not singing/playing with Cool Confusion, Jeff also performs as a solo artist by singing and playing acoustic guitar in public venues, weddings, parties and the like.

Ray Guy

Starting at age 3 on piano, Ray always had the music in him. He found the love for drums when he was in his teens and now, some 20 odd years later, his love hasn't changed! His passion for music is what drives his drum playing and makes him "one with the drums!"

His influences range from Louie Bellson to Neil Peart, Max Roach to Stewart Copeland and a host of other greats, both drummers and percussionists.

Along with Cool Confusion, Ray has performed with Patti Labelle, Adrienne's Cousin, Turning Point and several talented musicians and singers, including studio work and a movie project with Cool Confusion.

With the loving support of his wonderful wife, awesome children and great friends, who inspire him, he hopes to continue on his musical journey for years to come.

Lou Brechemin

Born and bred in Media, PA, Lou Brechemin joined the band in February, 1992. Lou's influences include Steely Dan, Tommy O'Reilly, Eric Clapton and Led Zeppelin. A strat man from day one, Lou recently played a telecaster & is considering an affair with one. Lou enjoys long walks on the beach, a good bottle of wine, and is a Leo.

Prior to joining Cool Confusion, Lou played in the band U-Sed-U-Nu. He also has played in Blind Truth and Turning Point.

In his non-playing time, Lou loves to spend time with his wife & children, Erin & Mike.
